TAKHLEEQ

Takhleeq is an initiative for the ambitious and enthusiastic students of Pakistan and is fully supported by the Institute of Media Sciences at Riphah International University.

Takhleeq, in general, is a Platform provided by Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS) with the broad objectives to promote creativity in media among students. It is a joint effort of RIMS faculty members and students for (amateur) student film-makers and photographers to visualize their ideas and display their talent. It will work as a catalyst for the students to scaffold their craft in front of the media professionals.

 

After Successful completion of Takhleeq National Student Photography Competition, Riphah institute of Media Sciences now announces Takhleeq National Student Short Film Competition, 2012.
Again we have selected theme My Pakistan to emblem this national event with nationalism and fraternity that was not a greater need at any other time than now to cultivate nationalism among our youth. The other Theme is “Open” to broader up the coverage among the youth.

Material Specification

Video must meet the following specifications:

  • Duration: Maximum 7 Minutes.
  • Video should be in .mpeg/.avi/flv (Or any other Compatible) formats along with detail write-up.

 

Submission of Entries

  • Festival Dates: Not Yet Confirmed
  • Film entry deadline: Open
  • Films must be received no later than: Open
  • Please MAIL/POST the films 2 weeks before deadline, to be on the safe side.

  • Takhleeq Short Film Competition 2012 is open only for students. However, professional filmmakers can also send their work for exhibition as non-contestant participants.
  • There is no entry fee for the competition.
  • The student/filmmaker must be the only copyright holder of the submitted material and the organizers will not be responsible for any copyright or other relevant issues.
  • The jury appointed by the institute will scrutinize and select films for the exhibition. Decision of the jury will be final.
  • Once submitted, a film cannot be withdrawn.
  • The duration of the submitted film should be up to 10 minutes.
  • Each participant can submit maximum two films for each category.
  • Films should not contain material that is offensive or disgraceful towards any community and should not cross the boundaries of our ethical or religious norms and ideology of Pakistan.
  • Films made in language other than Urdu/English will be submitted with Urdu/English subtitles.
  • Any film sent through e-mail will not be accepted. Two copies of each entry should be sent in DVD format to:

• A brief synopsis of the film
• List of participations and awards won
• Two or more stills from the film
• Profile of the director with his/her photograph
• Entries are non-returnable.
• The institute reserves the right to use the submitted work for non-commercial and promotional purposes.
